UL Lafayette’s Olivier Tower Offers More Than Just Parking
The University of Louisiana Lafayette recently celebrated the opening of a new, six-level mixed-use structured parking facility named Olivier Tower. The 852-space deck was constructed on a 1.31 acre site, formerly the location of the UL Lafayette Credit Union and includes 10,000 sq. ft. of customizable commercial space fronting the historic McKinley Street. The new commercial space is the home to the Credit Union as well as the University’s Parking and Transit Services department. After achieving financial closing on December 14, 2010, and constructed in just nine-months, this milestone includes the delivery of the 462-bed “Baker Hall” student housing community. These represent just the first components of the phased delivery of 2,000 beds by Fall 2012.
