RISE Once Again Named a Top 25 Developer of Student Housing

We are pleased to announce the RISE was, once again, named a Top 25 developer of student housing in the latest issue of Student Housing Business Magazine. For over thirty years, RISE has been transforming campuses, delivering to a higher standard, and making a positive impact on students, campus administrations, development partners, and communities.

In an interview within the same publication, Jeremy Doss, RISE Senior VP of Development, shared his thoughts on Public Private Partnerships as a housing solution and notes the importance of quick delivery to minimize the risks of rising costs.

As university enrollments increase, and the desire to retain second-year students on campus, public-private partnerships (P3s) have become a popular choice for administrations seeking cost-effective and fast-tracked housing solutions. With expanding demand, and the need for diverse offerings, RISE has leveraged its 30 years of industry experience to meet university administrations’ evolving needs.

Jeremy Doss, RISE Senior VP of Development, shared his thoughts in the most recent edition of Student Housing Business. He notes the importance of quick delivery to minimize the risks of rising costs.

“Speed to market is a top – if not the top – driver for these flagship P3s as a realization has set in on how much costs can change in a year, as well as how today’s first-year students value their housing experience when ultimately selecting their school.”

Jeremy pointed to the breakneck speed of work being done at the University of Tennessee Knoxville which entered into a P3 with RISE following a nationally competitive procurement process.
“Now [UTK] are going to achieve this substantial addition of 2,000 beds (Phase I) to their campus capacity in just 28 months from project conceptualization. I’d venture to say that no traditional project of this scale has ever been delivered this quickly on any campus.”
