Description:

RISE delivered the 1,220-bed, four-building community known as East Campus Village to the University of Georgia in July 2004 and includes 510,115 SF in housing, common space, circulation and service areas.

As UGA’s first public private venture, East Campus Village features fully furnished apartment units which served as a new unit type to the on-campus housing offering. The building design involves enclosed and conditioned corridors with a high efficiency centralized mechanical and plumbing systems and a common area program of a 24-hour service desk, central laundry and mail, resident manager’s apartments as well as numerous common gathering areas highlighted by the signature Fireside Lounge.

The project site was developed on a large commuter parking lot and required the inclusion of an adjacent 850-space parking deck.

A flagship dining facility of approximately 56,500 SF, Village Commons, was created as a component of the project and includes a two-story design with multiple food concepts and uses to include the “Village Summit” full service meal plan. The Commons also provide much needed commissary space for the university. Parking services offices were included as well.
