RISE Recognized as a Top Developer of Student Housing

RISE was named once again to Student Housing Business’ (SHB) annual list of the industry’s Top Developers of Student Housing. With 5,414 beds planned through Fall 2026, RISE is managing a robust pipeline of exciting student housing developments both on- and off-campus. This pipeline has grown since last year’s Top 25 listing. To determine these rankings, SHB surveys the industry to determine the total development pipeline measured by planned student beds.

RISE’s current pipeline of student housing projects includes on-campus P3 developments, such as Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, as well as off-campus, purpose-built student housing, such as RISE Thirty Fourth in Gainesville, FL.

Recent student projects, delivered on-budget and on-time, include P3 developments at Appalachian State University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The multiphase development at Appalachian State University was recently recognized with a SHB Innovator Award for Best Public / Private Partnership Development.

In addition to being ranked as a top 25 most active student housing developer, RISE was also recognized as the #2 Student Housing Management Company in the country based on J Turner Research’s Online Reputation Assessment (ORA) scores.

Greg Blais, RISE President, was quoted in the most recent edition of Student Housing Magazine noting that the current student housing development environment was “Active.”

“From an on-campus perspective, RISE has seen an extremely high volume of solicitations for residence halls.

“The current activity is driven by – once again and as usual – the need to compete for the best students and to respond to growing enrollments. Universities have been willing to place bond debt on their balance sheets to assist in lowering the cost of capital to ensure halls are being built to meet student demand.”
